The government of Mexico will sign an agreement this week with producers and marketers of food and personal hygiene products pto preserve the prices of the basic basket, President Claudia Sheinbaum reported this Monday.
The agreement continues the so-called Pacic (Package Against Inflation and Famine) that the now former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador launched during his administration. to contain price increases that brought inflation to its highest levels in many years.
“This week we are going to sign again the so-called Pacic (Package Against Inflation and Famine), which is with businessmen, marketers, producers, so that the basic basket does not increase.”Sheinbaum said in his daily press conference.
Among the companies that participated in the previous agreement to stop price increases are: Walmart de México, Chedraui, La Comer or Soriana.
