Free electronic DNI campaign for this November 16: know where and what services are available

The Provincial Municipality of Huancavelica reported on the start of a free day dedicated to obtaining and updating the electronic DNI for the local population.

The campaign will take place in the multipurpose room of the municipal government from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and thus allows citizens to carry out key procedures related to their identity documentation in a simple and free way.

The event, aimed at residents of the province located in the south-central region of the country, seeks to promote access to citizen services and facilitate the transition to the national electronic identity document, which offers greater security guarantees and allows the use of digital signatures for different procedures.

During the activity, attendees will be able to access various services made available by the municipality and the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec)which are detailed below:

  • Registration for the first time of the electronic DNI
  • Change of conventional document to digital format
  • Request for a duplicate electronic DNI in case of loss or deterioration
  • Modification of data, including change of address

To carry out these procedures, a series of differentiated requirements have been established according to the requested management:

  • For registration for the first time, it is essential to present a certified copy of the birth certificate.
  • Data rectification procedures require the document that supports the requested update, which is essential to support the change before the authorities.
  • In the case of procedures such as the change to the electronic DNI or the request for duplicates, you must bring the physical document itself or a copy that allows you to verify the existing information in the national registry.

Additionally, all minors between 0 and 16 years of age must be accompanied by at least one of their parents when starting any procedure related to electronic identification.

A highlight of the campaign is the free photography required for the document, which will be taken in the same place where the service is carried out. If preferred, applicants can choose to bring a passport-sized image with a white background that does not match the one that appears on the currently valid DNI.
