Eduard Fernández once again gives another master class in acting. After enjoying his incarnation as the bus driver who forced the local administration of Barcelona to bring the public transportation service to his neighborhood in The 47now becomes Enric Marco Batlle, someone who was able to give talks and conferences about the Holocaust, as a witness to the events… although without having been there, as was finally demonstrated. We are, therefore, before a new interpretive recital by this great actor who never ceases to surprise every time he builds a character to put himself in front of the camera. On this occasion, it is directed by Aitor Arregi and Jon Garaño, the creators of the magnificent Loreak (2014), Handia (2017) and The infinite trench (2019) -this last one, co-directed with Jose Mari Goenaga, who also collaborates on the script of this latest production-. Here we are presented with a very interesting reflection about lies and memory, through this curious character who starred in the book by Javier Cercas years ago The imposter (Random House, 2014), someone who was able to invent a story from some books he studied and he was able to deceive even the team of a Prime Minister.

The film begins when, as the highest representative of the association of survivors of Nazi extermination camps He visits a teaching center to give a lecture about his experience there, while at the same time he receives insistent calls from a historian who requests an interview to talk about the same thing. This former trade unionist who served as general secretary of the CNT (National Confederation of Labor) avoids calls and, at the same time, manages his organization’s intervention in a high-level event. From the beginning we will attend constant flashbacks in which we will learn about the past of this mysterious man and how he has come to be where he is, thanks to his power of fabulation and mastery of the word. The film captures us from the beginning and continues to interest us until its conclusion.
