A former Bolivian Interior Minister was imprisoned on Saturday, accused of fraudulent acquisition of tear gas and other chemical agentsthe Attorney General of Bolivia, Ricardo Condori, told the press.

Murillo, a key figure of the interim government of Jeanine Áñez, arrived on Thursday in Bolivia from the United States, Where he was deported after serving a sentence there for conspiracy to wash bribes.

The case is one of several legal processes against him, and has already received an eight -year sentence for it, although he is not yet definitive. Murillo’s defense has maintained his innocence, claiming that charges have political motivations.
