One week after floods in Tucumánthis Saturday the provincial government deployed an operation in Madridthe town most affected by the storm, so that residents could return to their homes. “Until we leave the town in good condition, we will be here”said Darío Monteros, Minister of the Interior of Tucumán.
“95% of the people returned home, although some neighbors still remain on the road because they need to condition their homes”reported the official, who was in charge of the assistance tasks. After a decrease in water was recorded, provincial and municipal teams and organizations were in charge of cleaning the homes.
At the same time, there were specialized crews that were responsible for restoring the water supply and they made improvements on key routeswith the intention of guaranteeing the entry and exit of vehicles to the area. “We have worked jointly with the SAT and with Roads. The SAT, despite the lack of energy, managed to have the town’s six water wells working today,” Monteros highlighted.
According to the statement released by the Government of Tucumán, road maintenance was concentrated on route 157, which would already be in passable conditions. Despite this, they warned that until Sunday it will only be enabled for the use of the residents of La Madrid, the authorities and collaborators.
“Starting on Monday, it will be considered to enable the route accordingly so that the vehicles that normally pass through this road can circulate,” confirmed the Minister of the Interior, after anticipating that they will continue with the draining of the wells during the remainder of the weekend.
In line with this, Monteros maintained that “until we leave the town in good condition, by instructions from the governor Osvaldo Jaldo“We are going to be here.” In addition, he indicated that, once these actions are completed, the evaluation of the material damage will begin with the communal commissioner.
In the rest of the province, the Minister of Public Health of Tucumán, Luis Medina Ruizled an aerial operation to assist affected families and make an official survey of the damage caused by the floods. There are still many people we have to assist and we are going to continue working to reach everyone,” he indicated, mentioning that local authorities and health personnel are also working on the procedure.
Despite the adversity of the situation, the head of the health portfolio valued: “It is very strong to see the context in which many families find themselves, but it is also moving the attitude of the people, who are very grateful. We explained to them that this is a very hard and unexpected natural phenomenon, but that the State is present to accompany them.”
On the other hand, the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovelloreported that the Nation has already sent supplies to assist the affected families. Through a publication on the social network X, he reinforced his commitment to the case: “We continue working to be close to those who need it most”.
