TVE has shown the first images of the stage of ‘Junior Eurovision 2024‘, which will be held next Sunday, November 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the Caja Mágica in Madrid. From the public channel, together with the European Broadcasting Union, they have reported that “production is advancing at a good pace.”
The first images “show the enormous deployment of RTVE to offer a television program of the highest quality.” Nearly 800 people have worked on assembling the structure while waiting for the 17 participating delegations to arrive in Madrid to be able to do their first rehearsals.
Spain will be in charge of celebrating the festival after France renounced it after having hosted it twice in just three years. Ruth Lorenzo, Marc Clotet and Melani García will be the presenters of the space.
This will be the scenario
The facility will have more than 800 state-of-the-art lighting devices, 20 kilometers of wiring, 175 motors and 11 generators that will serve the live broadcast of the show.
The screens will be fundamental in the scenery. The stage will have a large central screen, in vertical format, 19 meters high and 11 meters wide. In addition, the floor will be covered by a 100 square meter screen. Regarding the image, RTVE has deployed a human team of around 100 people in the Caja Mágica, using one of its two type F units, the most complete mobile unit that RTVE has and configured for this project with a total of 18 cameras.
These cameras include special equipment with gyro-stabilized cameras, such as a MOVIEBIRD 52 crane, which can extend up to 15.7 meters, and a 2D CABLECAM, which will provide impressive aerial images. In addition, two robotic traveling vehicles equipped with telescopic columns up to 3 meters high have been installed. The deployment also includes an overhead camera, two steadicam cameras and three shoulder cameras, all equipped with radio frequency systems to ensure full mobility on stage.
For sound, RTVE has developed an ambitious design for Junior Eurovision 2024, marking a notable evolution compared to previous projects and led by the best professionals. 4,000 meters of audio wiring have been installed to configure 11 audio consoles, 54 wireless microphones, 40 in-ear monitors and the rest of the necessary auxiliary equipment, reaching a power of 400,000 watts in the public address system.
The RTVE Digital Implementation Unit, made up of a team of 7 computers for graphics, has developed the necessary applications to represent the graphic line and manage the votes of the different countries. As a novelty, they have been pioneers in presenting graphics on an 8K screen.
