Fabiola Yañez returned to Argentina and spoke about her relationship with Alberto Fernández

Fabiola Yanez returned this week to the Argentina coming from Spain, where he lived with Francisco, the son he had with Alberto Fernandez. The former first lady made statements and explained the reasons for returning to the country and the status of the case she maintains against the former president, reported for gender violence.

In an interview broadcast this Monday, October 20, on the program In the afternoonby America TVYañez emphasized that remains distanced, both personally and legally, from the former head of state: there is a current process regarding alleged acts of violence that, according to the provisions of the prosecutor and the federal justice system, advanced pending the start of an oral and public trial.

“I have a low profile. Yes, there may be those who want to know things about my life, but my life is very normal,” said Yañez in the dialogue held with the cycle of America.

Asked about the link between Alberto Fernandez and his son, Yañez was forceful: “We have no relationship with Alberto Fernández. It is not true that he had my son irregularly in another country. They granted me a residency for a highly qualified professional until 2028.” Regarding the contact between father and son, he explained that “a day and date were set so that he could see Francisco. He could see him whenever he wanted, there was never an impediment to contact. His center of life was Spain, there he had a school and a pediatrician. For the law and for justice, Francisco’s center of life was Madrid.”

In the interview, the former first lady also addressed the state of the family relationship and the difficulties that come with geographical distance. “His father never traveled to visit Francisco in Spain, it makes it very difficult for them to have a quality interaction from such a distance,” he stated. Expressing his intention to look for an environment in which the child feels stability, Yañez added: “Seeing where we are settling so that everything is in the best way for Francisco, which is the only reason I get up every day”.

Regarding the case involving the former head of state, the file added movements in recent days. Alberto Fernandezthrough a 187-page proposal, requested the annulment of the investigation that analyzes the alleged acts of gender violence. The defense, in charge of the lawyers Silvina Carreira and Yamil Castro Bianchidemanded that everything that has been done so far be discarded, after the Federal Court of Criminal Cassation decided to remove the federal judge Julian Ercoliniwho was in charge from the beginning of the process.

According to the resolution of Chamber II of that federal criminal court, Ercolini had to leave the case due to “fear of bias,” after having been pointed out by Fernández for an old personal relationship that is now resentful. However, that same ruling held that the validity of the evidentiary measures and the current status of the case remain valid. The file was left in the hands of the judge Daniel Rafecasalthough the magistrate has not yet taken formal control, since the firmness of Ercolini’s displacement remains.

The federal prosecutor Ramiro Gonzalez concluded the investigation and asked the court to move forward to the oral trial, accusing Fernández of the crimes of coercive threats and minor and serious injuries, aggravated by the relationship and by the context of gender violence. Despite requests from Fernández’s defense to go back on everything investigated, the justice system emphasized the continuity of the evidence collected.

Yañez assured that he will continue to press the complaint in court and defined himself as a “resilient” person who managed to face the difficulties of recent years and prioritize the well-being of his son. “The complaint will continue in court. I am a resilient person, I have been able to move forward and take care of my son,” she said.

In another part of her testimony, the former first lady made reference to the public impact of the cause and its exposure in the media. “I sought to heal issues that had been going on for many years. If what happened to me because it was more visible is useful for other people, I hope it will be useful for that,” Yañez expressed in the program America.

With the judicial case advancing and before the definitive return to the country, Yañez expressed his willingness to achieve a reconnection between father and son adjusted to the needs of the child and what the justice system orders.
