Spain maintains its water reserves at 53.08% of their capacity this Tuesday October 21according to the most recent update of the Peninsular Hydrological Bulletin, provided by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco).
This official information turned out to be negative, as it indicates that the water capacity in the country decreased in the last week.
The behavior of the reservoirs serves as a thermometer to measure the water situation of the country. As the year progresses, the figures on stored capacity take on special importance due to the impact of water on daily life even in all types of industries.

Regardless of the capacity of the reservoirs in Spain, you must always be responsible with their use. For this reason, Miteco published a series of recommendations to save water from homes.
Before going to sleep, write down the figure on the water meter and when you wake up, before any consumption, read it again. If the counter figure has changed, there may be a leak.
Another silent leak is through the toilet. To find out if there is any, you can dye the water in the box with a harmless dye, which will make it easier if there is any waste of water.
The seemingly innocuous dripping of a tap can lead to, in the long run, very significant water losses of around 30 liters each day. If you detect a leak of this type, it is best to fix it as soon as possible.
If you are going to be away from your home for a few days and you do not have an automatic irrigation system installed, it is better to turn off the water valve. This prevents water losses due to small leaks or flooding due to unexpected breaks.
