The United States labor market maintains a high demand for foreign workers, opening multiple formal alternatives for those seeking safe and stable employment.
Thousands of Latin Americans see in this destination a path to competitive salaries, better living conditions and new professional opportunities. In this context, Global Workforce Connection emerges as an agency that connects talent from Latin America with American companies, guiding the process of legal entry into employment in the North American country.

Since 2018, the United States has had a notable imbalance between the number of vacancies available and the number of workers trained to fill them. This difference, reported by different labor analysis entities, is attributed to structural factors such as the decrease in labor participation and changes in immigration regulations.
This condition has generated a fertile field for foreigners to access qualified and unskilled jobs.mainly in areas of agriculture, hospitality, construction, health and transportation.
The Global Workforce Connection agency was founded with the objective of channeling these opportunities to Latin Americans, offering advice and support during labor migration procedures. According to Sandra Moreno, vice president for Latin America of the company.
“The three fundamental pillars that make the difference in the process, when it is done through a company, it would be like Global Workforce Connection, are transparency and legality, comprehensive support and social impact”. This approach seeks to prevent the proliferation of fraud and facilitate access to genuine programs endorsed by the United States Government.
Among the main immigration alternatives there are three categories of work visas that are presented as the most requested by those who wish to apply from Colombia or other Latin American countries:
- EB-3 Visa: Grants permanent residence to foreign workers with a job offer validated by the employer. This visa allows beneficiaries to move their family and guarantees stable employment under legal parameters.
- H-2A Visa: It is intended for temporary jobs linked to agriculture, including work such as harvesting, packaging and planting. It usually requires the employer to demonstrate the impossibility of finding local staff.
- H-2B Visa: Oriented toward temporary work in non-agricultural sectors, such as hospitality, gardening, construction and entertainment. This visa also requires prior validation of the employment offer and has limited spaces per fiscal year.
The process to obtain one of these visas requires strict compliance with the requirements of US legislation. Sandra Moreno stressed that “many people believe that it is enough to have a passport and the desire to travel, but each immigration program has specific requirements. Our recommendation is not to get carried away by easy promises and always confirm the legality of the offers.”
The process includes obtaining a formal job offer, fulfilling the profile requested by the employer and managing documents before the US embassy and the Citizenship and Immigration Service. (Uscis).
The process can take between 12 and 24 months, depending on the type of visa and the sector of employment. During this period, offer validation and background checks become especially important. From the agency’s perspective, expert support allows applicants to avoid errors in documentation and proper monitoring of official stages.
In terms of immigration policy, Donald Trump’s administration has promoted initiatives aimed at privileging local employment, which has modified some visa allocation mechanisms. However, Global Workforce Connection observes that alternatives persist for Latin Americans, as long as regular and formal channels are followed.
The US labor market, especially in sectors with lower domestic demand, will continue to require contributions from foreign labor. Under this panorama, the transparency of the process and the verification of the legality of each offer emerge as central conditions for the security of the applicant and their future labor integration.
