International Chef’s Day was established in 2004 by the World Culinary Association (World Association of Chefs’ Societies or Worldchefs), a global organization that represents more than 10 million professional chefs. The initiative wanted to recognize the contribution of chefs to global culture and economy.
The main objective of this day is to highlight the profession of chef, a job that requires passion, creativity, discipline and a constant search for perfection. In addition, it seeks to promote education in healthy eating habits, especially among the youngest, and promote sustainable cooking.
