Biden says he doesn’t like that Trump wants to end US citizenship

The president of the United States, Joe Biden, said on Sunday that he found it horrible that the president-elect, Donald Trump, attempted to end birthright citizenship in the United States.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Biden said the transition to the Trump administration seemed to be going smoothlyalthough he assured that he thought there was a problem with Trump’s team internally related to the transfer.

Asked before the anniversary of the January 6, 2021, attack on the United States Capitol about whether he still thought that Trump was a threat to democracy, Biden said he thought what Trump did was a “real threat to democracy.”

Trump falsely claimed he had won the 2020 election and urged his supporters to go to the Capitol that day.

“It should not be rewritten”, Biden said about January 6. “I don’t think it should be forgotten.”

Biden affirmed that the supremacy White was one of the many threats to the United States.

“We are the most extensive multicultural nationsa of the world. It’s the reason we are so strong. “It’s the reason we are who we are,” Biden said.

Trump assured NBC last month that he plans to take executive action on his first day in office to try to end birthright citizenship, which confers citizenship on anyone born in the United States regardless of their parents’ immigration status.

“The idea that we’re going to change a constitutional birthright – if you’re born in the country… you’re not a citizen? What’s going on?” Biden said.

Biden, a Democrat, criticized TrumpRepublican, for encouraging lawmakers not to vote in favor of a bipartisan immigration bill that the current president supported to strengthen law enforcement at the border. “It’s ridiculous. It’s ridiculous,” Biden said.

Trump used immigration as a key issue to unite to his bases in the 2024 elections, which he won, beating Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate.
