President Joe Biden's re-election campaign said Sunday that raised $10 million in the 24 hours after a fiery State of the Union speechin which he accused Donald Trump of threatening democracy and torpedoing a bill to address America's immigration problems.
In a 68-minute speech to Congress on Thursday, Biden also accused Trump, his Republican opponent in the Nov. 5 election, to bury the truth about the assault on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 and to bow to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The fundraising is notable, given that Biden's campaign and his Democratic Party allies They raised more than US$42 million in January.
An estimated 32.2 million people watched Biden's State of the Union address, according to Nielsen ratings from 14 television networks., which represents an increase of 18% compared to last year. This did not include viewers on streaming, social media and other platforms.
