Apple failed to adapt its AI tool to European Union regulations

Apple decided not to launch its new artificial intelligence tool for Siri in the European Union after having unsuccessfully requested to be exempt from interoperability obligations applicable to the tool, a European Commission spokesperson said on Tuesday.

“The decision not to launch Siri AI in the EU is Apple and only of Apple“the spokesman told reporters in Brussels Thomas Regnier.

Apple was simply not able to develop interoperability solutions that meet essential EU privacy and security standards,” he said. Regnier.

“Rather than attempting to find an appropriate compliance solution, Apple simply submitted a request to the European Commission to be exempt from its interoperability obligations. “That’s not an option.”
