Amazon.com Inc. launched a series of new home security appliances of their Ring and Blink brands, which means an end of end to the end towards the 4K video.
The ads are part of the comprehensive renewal of the company’s devices on Tuesday, focused on the new thrusters and Kindles. Months after the return of its founder, Jamie Siminoff, at the head of the unit, Ring is launching its first devices capable of recording video with the standard resolution standard, which reinforces competition with rivals such as Eufy and others. The launch coincides with the launch of Google, Alphabet Inc., of several of its new Nest security cameras.
Ring launches the new US $ 200 outdoor Cam Pro 200, Spotlight Cam Pro of US $ 250, Floodlight Cam Pro of US $ 280 and Wired Doorbell Pro of US $ 250, all with higher video quality. There is also a US $ 180 Wired Doorbell Plus with 2K resolution and a new Indoor Cam Plus of US $ 60.
The highest resolution cameras are an important improvement for home security systems. Blurred images can hinder the identification of an intruder or the reconstruction of what happened. And as televisions and other peripherals adapt more and more to resolution 4K, it is equally important that users can capture multimedia content in that format. Siminoff said that not all 4K videos in the cameras are the same and that Ring will be the “Ferrari” of the optimization of this type of recordings.
Another ring priority this year is the “Search Party” function, which uses ring cameras in a given area to locate lost pets. The idea is that a person can send a photo of his lost pet and, if a nearby ring camera detects it, the camera owner will receive an alert and can notify the owner of the lost pet.
Blink, another home security brand owned by Amazon, launches the 2K+ $ 90 Outdoor camera, as well as an ARC package of US $ 100 that combines two MINI 2K+ models with a support to see from two different angles simultaneously. All cameras will be launched at the end of this year.
