What to expect on September 9, as well as in late 2026 and early 2027:

Foldable iPhone: The centerpiece of this year’s product launch will be a foldable smartphone that many within Apple are calling the iPhone Ultra. It will have a large interior screen and a small external screen, and will be about the size of a passport when folded. Its main features include an A20 Pro chip, its own C2 modem, dark and light color options, standard and ultra-wide-angle cameras, no telephoto lens, Touch ID support, split-screen multitasking, an advanced hinge, and a much less visible fold than on previous foldable devices. The price is expected to exceed US$2,000.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: The Pro range iPhones will look very similar to previous models, except for the new light blue and dark red color options. The main new features will be internal: A20 Pro processors, self-made C2 modems, longer battery life and improved vapor chambers to prevent overheating. They will also include camera improvements, such as a mechanical diaphragm to fine-tune lighting and depth control, at least on the Pro Max.

Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4: This year’s update of Apple Watch will include new colors and ceramic cases on the Series 12, as well as new health and wellness features. The updated internals will power the AI version of the Siri assistant. One of the novelties being tested is a continuous heart rate sensor that can work throughout the day, regardless of whether the person is exercising or not.

AirPods 5: This model will be a renewal of the low-end AirPods, with versions of both normal headphones and those with noise cancellation. These are not the AirPods with integrated cameras for AI, whose launch was delayed and which would arrive next year.

Apple TV set-top box: The new Apple TV will look very similar to the current model, but will include a faster chip that will speed up navigation through the operating system and enable Siri AI for the first time. It will also have an improved remote control.

HomePod mini: The story of the HomePod mini is similar to that of the Apple TV: there won’t be any major cosmetic changes to the smart speaker, but a faster processor will improve Siri’s AI capabilities. The company has also been testing a new full-size HomePod with Siri AI support, although its launch does not appear imminent.

iPad mini with Oled screen: The new iPad mini represents one of the biggest innovations in the history of the product, as it will incorporate an LED screen for the first time, which will make watching videos, playing games and performing other tasks a more pleasant experience. Oled technology, an acronym for organic light-emitting diode, offers more vibrant colors, sharper contrasts and pure blacks, as it does not require backlighting.

iMac update with M6 chip: Apple is preparing an update to the iMac with the M6 chip and possibly new case colors. This will be the first update to the desktop computer in two years.

14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 chip update: The new 14-inch MacBook Pro will look the same as the current model, but will replace the entry-level M5 chip with the entry-level M6 chip.

The redesigned model will incorporate a multi-touch screen, Oled technology and the Dynamic Island element present in the iPhone. In addition, it will have a software interface more adapted to touch. This device will be available in 14 and 16-inch sizes and will include the M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, launched in March.

First smart home control center with screen: The other big news from Apple, which will arrive in the coming months, will be a home control center with a square screen of approximately 7 inches. Siri AI and facial recognition will offer personalized content to the user. It will be available in versions that can sit on the nightstand or pin to the wall, run widgets, watch faces and apps, and allow for both FaceTime and smart home control.
