Argentine Government modified the 2026 budget through the Administrative Decision

The Government modified the 2026 Budget through Administrative Decision 20/2026, published this Monday in the Official Gazette. The measure bears the signatures of the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, and the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo.

The rule expanded by $500,000 million the limit for the payment of provisional judicial sentences, established by article 40 of Law No. 27,798. The new ceiling was set at $712,288 million, in response to retroactive payments originating from adjustments to the Argentine Integrated Pension System (Sipa).

In addition, the decree incorporated $162,000 million as a figurative transfer from the National Treasury to finance the Reciprocal Will Retirement Plan for Anses personnel. Those interested must submit their forms before April 26.

Article 2 of the standard redistributes positions and credits between organizations in line with personnel movements already arranged. Among them, the transfer of eight agents from the Chief of Staff to the Ministry of Deregulation and Transformation of the State.

The Judicial Council also received budget adjustments: $115,194 million for personnel expenses and $22,000 million for fixed assets in the Highest Instance Justice program. with the aim of guaranteeing its normal operation.

Beyond the reallocations, Adorni and Caputo made cuts in various approved items of the 2026 Budget, in compliance with the presidential directive to adjust 2% of discretionary spending to sustain the surplus committed to the IMF.

In net terms, the Central Administration allocation was reduced by $2.5 billion (1.6%). Added to $565,000 million in revenues higher than expected, the fiscal surplus goal rises to $3.2 trillion annually.
