The government of the State of Mexico launched the call for the program “Scholarships for Wellbeing, Mexicans abroad, to perfect themselves in the English language”corresponding to the 2025-2026 school year, aimed at higher-level students and active teachers who wish to strengthen their language skills outside the country.
This program offers financial support of up to 160 thousand pesosthe final amount of which will depend on factors such as the educational institution, the destination country and the corresponding currency.
The scholarship seeks to promote international academic training and improve the professional opportunities of the beneficiaries.
The call is addressed to:
- Higher education students who pursue their degree in person.
- Active teachers of the same educational level.
In the case of students, they may register:
- From fifth semester of Higher University Technician.
- From the seventh semester or fifth semester in Bachelor’s or Engineering.
Interested parties must apply online April 14 to May 8, 2026through the official portal:

It is important to note that the registration concludes the May 8so the authorities recommend not leaving the process until the last minute.
The financial support is designed to cover practically all the expenses of the academic stay abroad, including:
- Registration and tuition for the English course.
- Academic materials.
- Lodging and food.
- International insurance for medical expenses during the trip and stay.
- Round trip plane tickets to the destination country.
- Personal expenses.
In this last item, the amount varies depending on the region:
- United States and Canada: up to 15 thousand pesos.
- Europe: up to 20 thousand pesos.
The scholarship total may be adjusted depending on the assigned university and the cost of the academic program.
The results of the scholarship allocation will be announced June 11 to 15, 2026 on the official site: becasextranjero.edugem.gob.mx.
Each applicant must check their status using the folio obtained during registration, since no email notifications will be sent.
