Madrid, March 28 (EFE).- The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated warnings in areas of six autonomous communities, which are at orange level (significant danger) due to wind and coastal phenomena in the Valencian Community and Catalonia, in the latter also due to snow. The level is yellow (danger) in Aragón, Galicia, Navarra and the Balearic Islands.
In Catalonia there is an orange warning in Lleida, in the Aran Valley, from 6:00 p.m., due to an accumulation of snow in 24 hours of 20 centimeters, with the level dropping from 1,200-1,400 meters to 600-800. In the Pyrenees the warning is orange due to snow and wind.
There is also an orange warning on the southern coast and pre-coast of Tarragona due to maximum wind gusts of 100 kilometers per hour, and on the southern coast of the province due to coastal phenomena. That alert level is activated at 8 p.m.; From 4:00 p.m. the warning is yellow, as in the central depression, due to wind.
The orange warning affects Girona due to coastal phenomena in Ampurdán, due to north and northwest winds of 60 to 80 kilometers per hour (force 8 to 9) and waves of 4 to 5 meters, and yellow on the southern coast. The wind, with maximum gusts of 80 kilometers per hour, puts the Pyrenees and Ampurdán under yellow warning.
The orange warning in the Valencia Community affects Castellón, due to wind in the northern interior (yellow in the south) and the coast with gusts of 100 kilometers and due to coastal phenomena of force 7 to 8.
The wind activates the yellow warning in Aragon, with maximum gusts of 70 kilometers per hour, and in Huesca due to snow in the Pyrenees, with accumulations of 10 centimeters in 24 hours.
It will also snow in Navarra, which activates the yellow level in the Pyrenees at the end of the day, where five centimeters can fall in 24 hours.
In Galicia, the coast of A Coruña is under a yellow warning for northeast winds of 50 to 61 kilometers per hour (force 7) and combined seas from the north or northwest of 4 to 5 meters.
The island of Menorca, in the Balearic Islands, also has a yellow warning for coastal phenomena, with winds from the north and northwest of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour (force 7) with waves of 3 to 4 meters. EFE
