Barcelona, March 22 (EFE).- The jury of the Moritz Feed Doc fashion documentary film festival has awarded the prize for best documentary this year to ‘The Designer is Dead’, the film about designer Miguel Adrover directed by Gonzalo Hergueta.
As explained by the jury in a statement, “the work of its director, Gonzalo Hergueta, was especially valued for his aesthetic experimentation and for opening uncomfortable questions about the fashion system.”
The film shows the rise, fall and creative rebirth of the controversial Mallorcan designer, with interviews with collaborators such as Pulitzer Prize winner Robin Givhan.
Also leaving with a special mention of this festival, which closes its tenth edition this Sunday, is the film ‘Akris’, by Reiner Holzemer, for “its contribution to the world of fashion.”
Milosh Harajda, Teresa Helbig, Pilar Pasamontes, Carlos Puig Padilla and Estrella Vilaseca, among others, were part of the jury in an edition in which the project ‘The hands that sew’, about the anonymous women who worked behind the maestro Cristóbal Balenciaga, was also screened and exhibited. EFE
