Russia’s key Black Sea port resumed oil loading over the weekend

Russia’s Sheskharis oil terminal in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk resumed loading over the weekend, which brought some relief to the global market amid the conflict in the Middle East

The oil tankers Psara I and Hanuman are currently docked at the first and second berths, respectively, according to ship tracking data collected by Bloomberg. The Briont ship is also at berth number seven, according to the port agent.

The resumption of flows from major Russian oil facilities partly eases pressure on global supplies, as several key producers in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, reduced production due to the near blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Sheskharis oil terminal has been closed since it was attacked last Monday, with drone strikes hitting six of eight loading bays, a person familiar with the details said a week ago.

Russia’s pipeline operator Transneft PJSC, which operates the terminal, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
